Wolf
A rotating game of nerve. Each hole one player is the Wolf, choosing a partner off the tee or going it alone for a bigger payout.
What it is
Wolf is a four-player points game where the role of Wolf rotates every hole. The Wolf tees off last in the group's set order and, after watching each opponent drive, decides whether to take one as a partner or play alone against the other three.
Going lone (or blind, declared before anyone tees off) multiplies the points on offer. It is the classic golf-trip betting game because the strategy changes on every tee.
How scoring works
- 1.Set the tee order for the group; the Wolf role rotates by that order each hole.
- 2.The Wolf watches opponents drive and may pick one as a partner immediately after their tee shot, forming a 2v2.
- 3.If the Wolf passes on everyone, they play Lone Wolf, 1 against 3, for extra points.
- 4.The Wolf may also declare Blind Wolf before any tee shot for the biggest multiplier. Points are settled per hole and totaled across the round.
Wolf variations in Sunday Singles
Pick a preset when you set up a Wolf session, or fine-tune the point values and tie payouts yourself. The four built-in presets:
- Standard
Partners score 2 points each, Lone Wolf wins 4, and a loss pays each opponent. No Blind Wolf.
- Standard + Blind
Standard payouts, plus Blind Wolf — declare lone before anyone tees off for double the stakes.
- High Stakes
Bigger swings for groups that play deep: Partners 3, Lone Wolf 6, Blind Wolf 12.
- High-Low
2 points for the low ball, 1 for the high, side versus side. Lone Wolf wins double the low. No Blind.
Handicaps
Wolf is usually played on net scores with each player's course handicap applied by stroke index, though many groups play it gross. Sunday Singles supports configurable point values for partner, lone, and blind wins and settles the running totals for you.
